Let me ask all of you outdoorsy people out there, what is the first thing you tell people when they ask you what you like to do? Always, my answer is being outdoors of course, and what goes right along with that? CAMPING!!
I absolutely love camping, the smell of the evergreens, the camp fire, and the crisp mountain air! It’s on the very top of my list when summer rolls around. Now I’m sure most of you grew up camping and for me my dad did most of the cooking while we were out. He was always the first one up, but I was a close second! We use to go with two or three other families as well so it was great to have friends there to play and hangout with. I loved it, waking up to the outdoors and me and dad working on the fire and getting food ready for our family and the rest of our Motley Crew. I was use to the basic food groups while camping: Hot dogs, cereal, bagels, baked goods, s’mores ( I was never complaining about this one 😉 and breakfast burritos! (This one was my absolute favorite because I was always able to help dad out with this one!)
The basics are all well and good, especially in big groups like we always did, but now that I’ve grown up a little bit and taking my own camping trips I get to be a little more extravagant with my menu items!
My Glamping Menu
Fire Pit Mac & Cheese- My all time favorite, because, well it’s awesome!
Now I will say this takes a bit more time because you’re basically making the mac and cheese before hand and putting it in a tin. So whether you decide to go box version or go ahead and make it yourself (I recommend this) wither works great!
On a side note I will also mention that these tin packages make putting together and serving so much easier!

Philly Cheese Steak Pull Apart
I love this recipe one because my dad use to make real time Philly Cheese steaks for dinner and two, because this is an easy as it gets!

Tin Foil Packs
These are great because it makes clean up super easy and they are so versatile! You can go with sausage, onions and peppers and make a sub sandwich (Remember to toast your roll!). Or you can go super classy with shrimp, corn, potatoes and have a Cajun feast!
This is a classic, but you know what’s even better than this the cast iron pan your using to cook them in! I always make sure to take my cast iron when ever I go camping because it comes in handy in more than one way! First you’re able to put in right on the fire which is super handy, second you can also use it as a serving platter!
This is one recipe that I really enjoy and it’s great to make as an appetizer for everyone to munch on or a full meal, this is also very versatile. Add as much cheese, beans and toppings as you can handle with this one!
Crispy Breakfast Burritos
Now since I love cooking these with my dad growing up I had to keep this in my list but put my own little spin on it! Basically, you do everything you would to make a great breakfast burrito. Add eggs, sausage, cheese and what ever else you can’t live without and cook it all up in your cast iron! Load up your tortilla and here’s the twist, then roll it up in tin foil and throw it on the fire! Make sure to be moving it a little at a time and you will get that great crispy bite that I love!
