Well Hello again!
I know I’ve talked about Denver Central Market many times before, and for so many good reasons! The market has so many great aspects but I will say my favorite is the the Local Butcher and Tammen’s Fish Market! There are so many choices and cuts and kinds a really great selection. The fish they offer is always fantastic as well. It seems that they always have something different each time we go!
Another great concept that each of the mini markets have within is that they have their own menu featuring the products that they sell! I love this because the butcher offers homemade meatball subs with their homemade marinara. Tammen’s offers a selection of seafood sandwiches but my favorite in particular are the quinoa crab cakes! Culture Meat and Cheese offer charcuterie boards, High Point Creamery offers unique selections of ice cream, Izzio Artisan Bakery offers amazing bread selections and sandwiches and Vero the Italian market and restaurant offers a selection of wood fired pizzas and Italian pantry items that are to die for! To tie it all together you need to stop by the Curio bar, they offer a fantastic menu with simple but elegant cocktails that will perk your interest and leave you wanting to try all of them!
While we were there shopping, we decided to stop at Curio for a drink and get a small charcuterie board for a little bit of a snack at Culture! They have such a great open space almost like a cafeteria feel, you can sit anywhere you can find a spot and they’ve got large T.V’s set up (we’ve also stopped by for a drink and then watched some football games-guilty!) it’s a great area to relax, study or hang out with friends. Check it out!
We ended up buying the lamb, spinach and feta kofta along with the spicy Italian sausage stuffed jalapeno poppers and the London Broil! I know, I know a lot but we cooked the lamb and poppers Monday night and it was so delicious! And the one thing that we actually went there for the London broil haha I will be making Julia Child’s Boeuf Bourguignon, TONIGHT! I’m so excited to break open my Julia Child’s cook book with one of her most famous dishes be sure to check back soon to see how that turned out! I’ll be channeling my inner Julia!
We love the local products, fresh ingredients and the atmosphere is usually so busy especially around brunch time! It’s earned the spot as one of my favorite places in the city! We also splurged a bit and stopped by the bakery to get a chocolate ganashe covered bundt cake soooo GOOD! If and when you’re in the area be sure to check it out you don’t want to miss this!
