Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a fantastic time ringing in the New Year, I know I did!
Anyways, now the Holidays are over and we have already begun 2018! That doesn’t mean we can’t still celebrate winter, there are still so many great things that winter has to offer especially events and activities. Be sure to check out my most recent Binge Traveler post where I take you to Steamboat, CO. Also some great winter events throughout the next coming months.
Today though, I wanted to just run through one of my favorite lists with you, my drink list! I am one of those people that really enjoys making cocktails for the season there are so many fun mock and cocktails that can be created; although most of mine have a lot of booze in them. Whether you are hosting a party or just settling down for the night and watching a movie my winter cocktail list has just enough creativity and all the booze to wow your guests and get you to the right level of warmth this winter!
I’m starting off the list with some of great hot chocolate recipes take a look!
Peppermint Hot Chocolate– A classic winter recipe but here I would like to give you a few more options to spice it up a few notches this winter! To make your chocolate creamy and dreamy make it on the stove top and add a tablespoon of Nutella, this richness is perfect to counter the intense minty freshness of the booze your about to add! For this recipe you can always go for the classic peppermint schnapps but I’d also like to share an idea of making your own peppermint or candy cane vodka to add instead?! I mean what else are you going to do with all those left over candy canes anyways?
Cookies and Cream Hot Chocolate– Literally, perfection in a mug, and then we are going to top it off with Oreos! Rich, dreamy and super creamy!
Spiced Irish Coffee– Not the normal Irish coffee, well sort of it still has all the good stuff in there but we are spicing it up for winter with this recipe!
Orange Bourbon Tea– Just wait, I can smell it now the wonderful aroma of orange and bourbon fill the room! This exquisite drink is classy and unique a must try for the winter months!
Earl Grey Hot Toddy– My spin on the classic recipe, using earl grey offers much more flavor than using white or green tea. The smell is absolutely incredible, and here’s my secret, once you steep the tea squeeze a slice of orange and slip a cinnamon stick in to bring all the flavors together. Usually a lemon is used but I think the orange really ties in the winter flavor perfectly.
Maple Bourbon Chai Tea Toddy– One of my favorite drinks is a chai tea latte, so when I saw this recipe it was a must for me! The chai spice and maple entice your senses and the bourbon warms you right down to your soul. it’s perfect for relaxing and watching the snow fall.
I had to end on this cocktail because no matter what cocktail tequila is added to it’s bound to get you all sorts of war inside! Grapefruit Ranch Water can be as creative or easy as you’d like. I like this particular recipe because it calls for jalapeño infused tequila which is a real treat! I love that bit of spice in your mouth that it leaves, it keeps you wanting more.
Hope these recipes help you relax, unwind and stay warm this winter!!
